Program Overview
- Minimum placement: 2 weeks
- Maximum placement: 4 weeks
- Longer placements coming soon
During your homestay, you’ll live with a Japanese family, gain cultural insight, and practice your Japanese every day.
Friendship Visits
We also arrange friendship visits to public and private schools (based on availability) for up to one month. These visits give participants a chance to see Japanese education in action and build meaningful connections.
Language Classes & Flexibility
Participants can combine their homestay with language school or cram school classes to accelerate Japanese learning.
Not interested in learning Japanese, but still want a cultural immersion in Japan?
No problem — you can tutor English while staying with a family. Our programs are designed to be flexible, meeting your interests and goals.

Junior High or High School
You must be 15 years old before attending school in Japan to be placed in 8th grade. If you are 16, you will be placed in 9th grade and if you are 17, you will be placed in 10th grade. If younger, let’s talk.
Inclusions & Cost
Homestay placement with a family whose child goes to the same school and same grade is always the goal; however, that may not always be possible. International flights are not included.
