AEA Ghana | Healthcare

Day 1-2: Arrival in Accra

  • Airport pick-up, hotel check-in, orientation, walking tour

Day 3: Accra

  • City highlights: colonial sites, Nkrumah Mausoleum, Accra Market
  • Healthcare introduction at West Africa AIDS Foundation

Day 4: Accra – Kpando

  • Visits to Valley View University & Nursing Training College
  • Lecture on medical education
  • Tour recycled glass beads factory
  • Dinner with NGO hosts

Day 5-6: Kpando

  • Healthcare at children’s home & medical research foundation
  • Visit women’s project on Volta River
  • Health Education Drama Group performance
  • Hospital visits & village outreach
  • Tafi Atome Monkey Sanctuary

Day 7: Kpando – Atimpoku

  • Community clinic in Liate Wote
  • Hiking or village walk
  • Bus to Atimpoku

Day 8: Atimpoku

  • Visit traditional healer/priest
  • Free time to relax

Day 9: Atimpoku – Cape Coast

  • Drive along coast, stop at Coffin Gallery
  • Relax at beach

Day 10-13: Cape Coast

  • Sanford Health clinic, Mental Hospital, School for the Deaf
  • Elmina & Cape Coast Castle
  • Kakum National Park
  • Drumming & dance workshop
  • Farewell dinner

Day 14: Departure

  • Bus to Accra, transfer to airport
