Join Chess Tournaments Away From Home, or…
Do something else while your child/ partner/ friend plays chess
We are developing programs to Mexico City and Iceland. Check back for details or get in touch to be added to the mailing list.
In the meantime, Imagine these two daytime scenarios:
Join fellow chess players in other cities and other countries
Take lessons together
Have meals together
Play in tournaments together
Meet local players
Make friends who love chess
While your child/ partner/ friend plays chess, you join others in your situation and:
Take a local, food walking tour for lunch
Visit a local winery for a tasting
Visit a unique, local hideaway
Explore the local area with chess families/ friends
In the evenings, get together as a group for dinner. Before and/ or after a tournament, take a 2-3 day excursion with the group.

Mexico City
This Chess & City program takes place in Mexico City. The focus for chess players centers around chess lessons at a local chess school founded by a national champion and run by his daughter, a former University of Mexico champion. And of course, there will be tournaments, both casual and ranked.
There are numerous activities for friends and family, including art making, canal tours, walking tours, and axolotl rehabilitation visits.
In the evenings, there are many excellent places to eat together or separately. And before and after the chess program, there are many multi-day side trips available, including Puebla, Queretaro, San Miguel de Allende and Cuernavaca.
Iceland
This Chess & Trek program takes places in Iceland. The focus for chess players pivots around lessons and tournaments at a local club, Iceland’s history with Bobby Fischer, and an international tournament. Make sure to get your FIDE if you plan to play in that. We may even be able to meet one of Iceland’s Grand Masters.
There are numerous activities for friends and family, including the museums, hot springs, delicious food and gorgeous hikes.
In the evenings, there are many excellent places to eat together or separately. And we may catch an aurora.
Before and after the chess program, there are many multi-day side trips available, including the Southern circuit, or visiting other parts of the country by self-drive or flights.
