Virtual Internship Overview

Dates: June 1 – August 14, 2020

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 15-20 Hours/Week (Daily Schedule TBD)

Intern Title: Marketing & Communications Intern

Intern reports to: Development Coordinator

Hosted by an outdoor education and summer camp, this intern will be instrumental in establishing a strong and consistent social media presence and assist with the beginnings of the initial phase of a re-branding campaign.

This non-profit organization provides year-round programming for youth and families alike, and maintains a large nature preserve, which serves as home to a number of outdoor activities.

Intern Responsibilities


  • Development of a targeted social media strategy and regular content postings
  • Updating the website and strategizing ways to increase traffic volume
  • Assist in the planning of upcoming fundraising events


  • Excellent oral communication and writing skills
  • Experience working in customer service
  • Proficiency with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram platforms
  • Proficiency with WordPress software strongly preferred


  • Enrollment in a college degree program, majoring in a relevant field
  • Maintain at least a 3.0 GPA (preferred)
  • Access to computer and regular phone/internet
  • English proficiency
  • An interest in the nonprofit and community development sector
  • Ability to work well independently
